Obituary

Terrance A. “Terry” Hafer, 79, of Stevensville passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at his home.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date, however, memorial contributions may be made to Stevensville American Legion Post 568, 3093 Johnson Rd., Stevensville, MI 49127. Those wishing to leave an online contribution may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Terry was born on February 24, 1941 in Benton Harbor to Arthur & Dora (Hodul) Hafer. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1959. Terry then attended Ferris State University where he earned an associate degree in graphic arts (printing) in 1961. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1963, and served his country for two years before he was honorably discharged in 1965. For more than 20 years, Terry worked for the United States Postal Service in St. Joseph, MI as a clerk before his retirement in 2004. Terry was a member of the Stevensville American Legion and Benton Harbor Elks Lodge. He was an accomplished bowler who won many awards for his bowling achievements. He also enjoyed playing golf and getting drinks with his friends.

Terry is survived by his children: Chad (Pauline) Hafer of Grand Blanc, MI, Karra Hafer of St. Joseph, and grandchildren: Jarra Hafer, Chase Hafer, Arianna Hafer and Cameron Hills.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur & Dora Hafer, siblings: Bruce Hafer and Marlys Felgner, and son: Dirk Hafer.
