Ned “Tom” Shiveley, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 with his family by his side at Hanson Hospice Center.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Private family burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Tom was born on November 1, 1941, to Roy and Edna (Ramge) Shiveley in Lima, OH. He graduated from Lima Senior High School. On September 3, 1961, he married Elizabeth “Betsy” Stewart in Lima, OH. Tom was employed as a logistics manager for his entire career, through Associated Truck Lines, ABF Trucking and Penske Logistics. Through the years, Tom officiated various sports in the Berrien County area, including softball, football and wrestling. He was a lifelong Ohio State fan and most of all, Tom cherished time spent with his family.
Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betsy; sons, Mark Shiveley of Grand Rapids and Scott (Lisa) Shiveley of St. Joseph and beloved dog, Baxter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Edna Shiveley and five sisters.
