Mary Nell Sloan, age 78, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020 at her residence in Bartow, FL.

She was born July 10, 1942 in Hayti, MO to George & Helen Earlene Rule, she was the owner & operator of Huff's Dam Inn restaurant in Berrien Springs, MI, after she sold her restaurant she then worked for Sears and Roebuck as a department manager in Benton Harbor, MI.

She is survived by her husband, Elijah "J.R." Sloan, four sons, Doug Huff, Rick Huff & wife Lea Ann, Ozzie Huff and Dave Huff, sisters, Janet Shortall and Ruth Ann Yerington, brother, George Rule & wife Vickie, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband Elmer Harold Huff.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Bobby Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Out of respect to the family and social distancing, it will be required that everybody wears a mask and keeps appropriate distance during the celebration. No longer by our side but always in our hearts, Tony's Aunt Mary Sloan😇has arrived. Heaven has just received a special angel. We will miss you like crazy Aunt Mary, but we will never forget you. We take comfort in knowing you are having a celebration with all your family and friends, who've been waiting for you in God's kingdom. RIP Aunt Mary. Love & Hugs are with you always from Tony & Linda❤️❤️

The best Grandmother-inlaw that I've had, and we're gonna miss her coming here to visit all of us. This was a tremendous loss to our family.
