Marietta was born on June 5, 1933, in Harbor Beach, MI, to Arnold & Vincenta (Sandmann) Glaess. While in eighth grade, her family moved to St. Joseph and she began attending Trinity Lutheran School. Marietta graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1951 and from Concordia Teachers College in River Forest in 1953. While attending a Walther League event, Marietta met the love of her life, Alvin Ziebart. The two were married on August 21, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church. They were happily married for almost 53 years before his passing in 2006. Marietta was involved in The Concordia Guild and The Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid Society for many years. Marietta was a member of Berrien Hills Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf. She also liked to play Bridge with her friends and had an incredible talent for sewing and cooking. The Lord blessed her with a loving family and she cherished the time she had with her children and grandchildren. Marietta was a tremendous lady and will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Marietta is survived by her children, Deborah (Doug) Kolberg of Grand Haven, Thomas (Debbie) Ziebart of Howey-in-the-Hills, FL, David (Debbie) Ziebart of Memphis, TN, and Steve Ziebart of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren; and sister, Eleanor Dorow of Benton Harbor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Vincenta; her husband, Alvin and her brother, Herman Glaess.
