Obituary

Joyce Darlene Simpleman passed away peacefully on July 28, 2020, at the age of 76 years.

Joyce is survived by her siblings Dr. George Tull Jr. of Grand Junction, Co and Susan (née Tull)
Castellani of Denver, Co and both her children, Robert Simpleman, Jr. of Saint Joseph, MI. and
Rochelle (née Simpleman) Arvizo, Ph.D. of Maple Plain, MN. She was preceded in death by
her husband Bob..

Joyce was born on January 14th, 1944 in Bend, Oregon to parents Leonard Linder and Esther
Tull (née Boyce). She grew up in Colorado, where she met and later married Robert (Bob)
Simpleman Sr. on October 15th, 1966. Joyce attended and graduated from Trinidad State
Junior College with an associate's degree in business administration. In 1973, they moved to
Grand Junction, Colorado where she worked for the State of Colorado as an HR specialist.
Outside of work, she could be found working on various sewing, quilting, or embroidery projects;
her prolific creativity touched the lives of many. She enjoyed spending time with her family
outdoors, such as cross country skiing on the Grand Mesa, hiking the Colorado National
Monument, or 4-wheeling in Moab, UT. She also loved to visit with her grandsons, Jonah and
Hudson; they were the absolute light of her life. Joyce was also very involved with the Catholic
Church, donating her sewing and decorating skills, along with volunteering at Catholic Outreach.
After the passing of her husband, she moved to Stevensville, MI.

Arrangements are being made by Starks & Menchinger funeral home. Joyce preferred and
requested a Celebration of Life which will be held in the summer of 2021 in Grand Junction,
Colorado. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Valley Catholic Outreach, 245 S 1st St., Grand Junction, CO 81501
