Earl J. Williams, 94, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Spectrum Lakeland Health with his son Rodger by his side.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 12 PM at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor J. Dean Pickett officiating. Friends may visit starting at 11 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williams family. Those wishing to share a memory of Earl may do so online at

Earl was born July 24, 1925, in Alco, Arkansas to Bill & Myrtle Williams.

On December 13, 1952 he married the love of his life, Betty Lou Carlock, at Euclid Center Church of God in Benton Heights, Ml. After retiring from Shephard Casters in 1989, Earl enjoyed gardening, playing his guitar, watching/listening to the Chicago Cubs games & spending time with his friends & family. He was so very proud of his granddaughter Lauren for following her dream & graduating from MSU Vet Tech Program, grandson Bryan who is currently serving in the Air Force, and granddaughters Kylie & Miranda for graduating High School.

Earl is survived by his son Rodger (Christine) Williams, his grandchildren Bryan (Lindsey), Lauren (Fiance Tyler Mahaffa), Kylie and Miranda, and great-grandson Logan & great-granddaughter Lilah as well as many nieces & nephews. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Williams, son Ronald "Ronnie" Williams, his parents, sister Bessie & brothers Jesse, Savage, Ernest, Max & Willie.

I loved you with all my heart. You were more like a Dad to me than an Uncle. I loved watching and listening to you play your banjo and just taking walks thru the fields listening to stories you shared. You were a quiet man, but when you spoke we listened. I will always think of our shared Birthday celebrations since they were just two day apart. Love you Unk Your niece-Denise

Rodger and family, So sorry to hear of you dad’s passing. He was a great fellow. We will not be able to attend service since we are in AZ. We will keep you and yours in our prayers.
