Obituary

Constance Marie Foster, 83, of Stevensville passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Hanson Hospice Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Connie was born on March 15, 1938 in Cando, North Dakota to Conrad and Marie Jorgenson.

Connie excelled at shooting sports in her youth and was often considered the top amateur marksman in the state of North Dakota, beating both men and women for top honors. Connie was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. After graduating high school, Connie moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she met her future husband, Gaylen Foster. They were wed on June 28, 1958 and were married for 52 years until his passing in 2010. Connie and Gaylen moved to Columbus, Ohio and eventually settled in St. Joseph in 1969.

Connie was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards, traveling, and spending time with family.

Connie is survived by her daughter, caregiver and best friend, Lynda (Dan) Martin of Bridgman; daughter Kimberly (Pat) Delmontagne of St. Petersburg, Florida; son Gregory Foster of Denver, Colorado; grandsons Bryan Foster of Bridgman; Joshua (Aimee) Delmontagne of Firestone, Colorado; Shawn Delmontagne of Westminster, Colorado, a great granddaughter, Emma Delmontagne of Firestone, Colorado as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Clara (Gordon) Rosenbaum of Bainbridge Township.

A private burial will take place at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Arrangements are being handled by Starks & Menchinger Chapel in St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie’s name to Hanson Hospice Center, via Spectrum Lakeland Health. My condolences to the family on your loss. I enjoyed knowing her & Gaylen. I met her through her husband who i bowled against. I left the area in 1993 but, we kept in touch with Christmas cards & when i visited the area.
